One Direction

One Direction is the biggest boy band in the world today! It all started with their 2010 X Factor audition. The five boys each auditioned as solo artists sadly they did not make the cut but the judges thought they were too valuable to let go so they were put into a group. Each week the boys were killing the stage with each performance they did, but in a surprising result they left the competition leaving them in 3^rd place.

Right now One Direction finished working on their 3rd album called Midnight Memories. Midnight Memories was number one in about 97 counties. The album was available to pre-order on iTunes a month before the release date.  A week before the album was released it was accidentally leaked. Even though that it was released a week before Midnight Memories was a big success. Their first single off of Midnight Memories was a song called "Story Of My Life" and "Best Song Ever". Both of those songs made it number one on iTunes when they were allowed to purchase.


According to Billboard One Directions third album topped charts even more than their last two albums, Take Me Home and Up All Night. 

My Passion About This Blog

What I love about this blog is that i can listen to the music I like. Like I've said in previous post I like listening to music created by boy bands. What I like about their music is that their music comes together so easily. The harmony that they make together and the lyrics is one of my favorite parts of the songs created by them.
Also what I like about boy bands is that some have attractive guys. For example, the boy band called Nsync have some attractive guys in it. In my opinion there are boy bands that don't have attractive guys in their group and make music with no meaning.


Something I hate about boy bands is that that no one takes them seriously. For some reason people don't take their music seriously and bash them with negative comments before even giving them a chance. Maybe after you listen to their music and still don't like them I don't mind. A boy band that always get a lot of hate is The Wanted. To be honest I personally don't like The Wanted. I feel like they are tying to so hard to become famous and its not really working for them. I have listen to their music before and i didn't like it. They lack in a lot of things. There are fans of The Wanted some where in the world and good for them but I'm not one of them.

Jackson 5

The era of music started to change in the 1960's. One of the biggest groups of that time was the Jackson 5. They were considered the first type of boyband. The Jackson 5 not only sang and danced but they also played the instruments in their group. In this group there was Randy, Tito, Jackie, Jermaine and Michael Jackson. The five brothers started preforming at a young age but the audience seem to like them.

I like the Jackson 5. The music they made was fun and energetic. It makes me want to get up and dance. My favorite songs that they have written is 'I Want You Back' and 'ABC'. Those 2 songs were the ones that made them famous and known around the world. 

Why Boy Bands?

The reason I chose to write about boy band reviews is because I personally like them. I feel like they make great music. Not everyone seems to like boy band because boy bands are labeled as "little kid bands." There are bands for little kid but there are also those that have sold millions of records and have tours around the world. I consider those types of boy bands as the professional type. They are serious about the music they make and become successful.


What I hope to achieve is that people change their mind about boy bands being for little kids and hopefully take time to actually listen to their music. Then if you still don't like them that's fine. I will be writing reviews about boy bands. In these blogs I will include the type of music they make or have made and their background.

According to A Century of Pop by Hugh Gregory, the 1990 were the start of boy bands. Boy bands are a group of talented male artists that sing and/or dance on stage together as a group. These boy bands had a big impact in music at that time. They started getting popular and seem to attract the younger generation then adults.






Billboard is the biggest music source in the world. In one of their article they state that boy bands have sold millions of records and have had massive tours around the globe, but the success does not come to everyone. Billboard talks about the biggest boy band from the late 80's all the way to 2012.
